I go thru these bouts where I can go 24-72 hrs with little to no sleep (mostly no sleep). Went and got a sleep test done about a month ago. I'm just waiting on the results. I did a Tough Mudder Saturday morning around 9am and I've been awake since then. Even when I do sleep, 4 hrs is better than 8. I'm fully functional but it seems like anything past 6 hrs and I'm:to::rip: for the rest of my day. I know I can't be the only one. I don't want to but I'm about to pop a couple ambien and see if that will help.

I was going recommend you start working out regularly, but if you're doing Tough Mudders, then I assume you already do. Hopefully the results of your sleep test show something treatable because insomnia SUCKS.

I feel your pain breh. Started taking Melatonin, didn't help one bit. Doc gave me ambien (would not recommend), worked but felt like a zombie the whole next day. stopped taking ambien after i had a bad ambien trip and started cooking and in the middle of the night with no recollections the next day. :yeshrug: I've accepted the fact that my body can't get more than 4 hours of sleep on work days. The worse is the day after a hard workout waking up and you feel your muscles still recovering. Lemme know how your test goes. Been looking for solutions for a couple of years now.

Yeah, sometimes I wake up every hour of the night and in the morning I'm super tired... :why:
I know why though : if my mind is too busy, I can enter the sleep state properly so considering that sometimes I'm thinking way too much when going to bed, which leads to bad sleep.
Also, when you're active few minutes before sleeping it doesn't help either. What I do is I got an alarm during the week at when I stop all activities (internet, movies, sport etc.) and then wait a little then go to bed.

IMO, I don't think taking prescription will help in the end because the body will end up NEEDING that prescription to sleep, which is bad. Maybe you should meditation (no new age bullshyt) I mean try emptying your mind before going to sleep or at least thinking less. That may help.

I'm struggling with it right now. I get maybe 5 hours of sleep a night. The problem is, its so broken up. I might sleep for 2 hrs then wake up for 2, go back to sleep for 2 then I'm back up. Its really annoying but I know what mines is from, I'm stressed out about a few things but once they pan out I hope to get back on a regular schedule.

you end up getting a machine with a full mask or just something that covers your nose?
