I was telling my potna, now with all these blurred lines between albums and mixtapes every album should be 12 tracks period. Of course if you want to do a deluxe version you do more but I feel like 12 is perfect. So yes I definitely prefer shorter albums

Jay Rock & Pusha come to mind, perfect amount of tracks to digest and still long enough to excite you..

ONLY artist i'll accept 20 track album from is Budden...vibe out to those stories and just :banderas:

I think most of the albums I love are about 14 tracks or so.....It's an industry/corporate influenced thing too...I remember reading about the shift from the overblown 22 track albums of the late 90's into the 2000's, into even shorter albums, like 12 tracks, people used to be disappointed with that, in terms of length...Rap cds, as the genre commerciality declined, got shorter in length to reduce costs and increase profits, I think a lot of the more bloated albums were products of the overblown 90's in general, 'Kiss Tha Game Goodbye' had 22 tracks, so did Styles debut, with a lot of skits and interludes too, Black Rob, G Dep, long debuts as well....I think No Limit had some very bloated albums too...I'd prefer 10 tracks cohesive and fluid to the massively crowded albums, 'The Massacre' was another one, late in the game, at that..cut that to 13 tracks and you have a great album....I think Games debut is like 20 something tracks too.

Yeah man, a lot of those Eminem cds are around 20 songs. When you try so much on an album the impact can get muddied. Of course this isn't a guarantee because there are some dope long albums like DMX's first couple.

If black dollar and black market was trimmed down to maybe 13 songs the best from both it would be a classic but the label wanted some singles I'm guessing.
Ross almost had it man :snoop: take the first 8 from Black Market and add Foreclosures, Money Dance, Sorry and Dead Rappers and you have a 12 song classic. Also shouldn't have released the Renzel Remixes

I hate that Mega's albums are so short. I be thinking, where's the rest of it. 2 minute tracks are not what's up. As long as the album flows, the length should matter that much BUT it shouldn't feel incomplete.
