Anybody ever bought pawn shop jewelry?

I ain't no jewelry wearing cat but I want a chain and maybe a watch but don't feel like spending a grip. Should I cop one from a pawn shop? Am I getting hustled if I do? It's not like I'm going to wear it all the time just every once in awhile

Yes. I've bought jewelry there. It's a real and most places let you layaway.
I bought myself a 1 caret band ring there for my 21st birthday. Paid a little under $400 for it. I took it to a "real" jewelry store to get it sized. The lady was really impressed with it. You would have thought I got it from zales or something. I don't really like big jewelry stores. Everything just seems so mass produced

Got my wife's wedding ring at one. Paid a quarter of what I would have paid at a jewelry store for the same thing. She loved the ring. I could have gotten her a lesser ring at a jewelry store and paid more but that would have been stupid.

Hell yea, shyt is just gold and rocks.

if they can prove the quality of the gold in front of you(and they can) and they weigh it in front of you, you gonna see you can get a good deal.
Plus you can negoiate with them, cause they hustled someone hard for that shyt anyway.

Like dude said above...I got my wife her wedding ring their and it was appraised over 3x more than what I paid for it(got the papers for it and everything)

Unless you gonna get some super crazy custom piece....then you might wanna do some research. Don't wanna have no big as D-boy hunting you down for "his" chain that got stole.

I have not but I would. Jewelry is ridiculously over priced, particularly diamonds. Diamond market is basically monopolized by DeBeers and therefore they're over priced.

If you buy one from a retailer and then try to sell it you'll prolly recoup about 15% of your $.

Oh no. Think about it like this. It's a pawn shop. They wouldn't let people pawn it if it was fake. Trust me I've tried to pawn/ sell things. They don't take just anything. Only stuff they're guaranteed to make money off of.
