Iwow this is crazy that I searched this and my wife brought me a home brew kit. I got Thomas cooper Pilsner...I don't know if it's right. I think I may have added the yeast while the temp was too hot. Right now the abc is at 1.060.... 
Supposed to go up a lot. I'll keep y'all posted and if I don't I died from it.
I'm getting custom bottles done and custom bottle caps so I'm real excited to pass around. Shut I might throw a party.
I'm making about 5gal (60 bottles). Let me know what you cats come up with

The last time I saw one in person was at a K-Mart a couple of years ago (X-mas time?). I think they also had one for cider, too. It was cheap enough to mess with, but I wanted to research the process (and better kits), before laying down money on potential skunk beer...
Now, one thing I'm curious about 'cause of this thread (especially around my way) is moonshine, fruits and everything...
I think you are talking about the Mr beer kits. The cac from the home brew store told me those kits are ass and don't even bother. He said he been doing it for 30yrs so I trust his judgement.
When mine is don't, if anyone want a bottle I'll send it just to get feed back. I'm already planning my next batch. Think I'm going to brew a cherry ale

I just bottled them up. Caps and labels haven't showed up so I used some old bottles I had in the garage.
The color is throwing me off (kinda of like piss) but it taste really good. Kind of like a Sams adams joint.
I got about 60 bottles, so that pretty much what I expected. I added the sugar in it today. I'll update in 2 weeks as to how the final product tastes
Edit: also the abv is at 5.2. I'm happy with that shyt
