From the growers I know breeding is a whole different game. Usually breeders ain’t the best “growers”. It’s when they give the seeds to respected growers is how the breed takes off. Those aren’t my words so don’t kill me if you have more knowledge. From my understanding, once they pollinate/cross the breeds they gather the seeds and start poppin them (growing them) finding the best phenos, which is why you typically see #’s in strains like Gelato 41, GG4 (Gorilla Glue#4), RS11 etc… they’ll pick the best of the bunch and start growing them to see what the plants tendencies, bud structure, yield, deficiencies, durability are. It’s a very tedious and thought numbing process with no guarantee that your creation will come out potent. If you have the time and space go for it, but suggest you have some growers on hand who can bring out the best in the plant. Tbh it’s not something you do in your spare time.
