Anybody Ever Take A Cross Country Road Trip?

I'm about to do some traveling this year, and while I wait for my passport to come in, I've decided to take a trip across the country... or at least towards the West Coast (in North Carolina now).

Anyone here ever done this?

I did drive from Bonn in Germany to Amsterdam in Holland once....dont know if that counts....

no speed limit on the autobahn....... was unforgettable

8 months later left and drove all the way back to LA

my 2nd trip i got robbed in HARRISBURGH PA... statin @ a lil motel next morning car windows busted all up all my shyts got stolen

The longest trip I did is from NYC to Orlando Florida, did it twice, first time layed over in NC second time Myrtle Beach.

I went with my family (My father was the only driver).

It took two days to make the trip.

I'm kind of a road geek but some reason as of late I've been feeling towards long road trips, I perfer Amtrak or flying.

I - 95 is only fun when you're around a Urban Area, its kinda boring when you going though the Deep Country.

Solo, this is pretty much some spur of the moment type shyt. I'm leaving Tuesday morning, assuming no hangovers from Labor Day.

Since your doing it solo just be warned driving at night in the deep country makes you sleepy as hell, as its pitch black outside (No street lights) when you're driving though the deep country on the highway.

I have a lot of family members who are vets at driving from NYC to North Carlina to visit family down there and they all complain about this, they warned my sister about this and shes was in her late 20s when she did the drive and she started feeling when we was in South Jersey returning to NYC, as South Jeresy the Turnpike has no lights and its easy to fall asleep.

Give yourself plenty of time. If you stop and are having a good time, you don't want to have to leave because of a schedule.

Take a lot of music. I had to listen to Michael Jackson for 4 days straight. Wasn't bad but could have been worse.

And like 456 said, get plenty of rest. I read if you can't recall what you've driven past for the last few miles, you're falling asleep.

I been wanting to do it since high school ended

Think i'm a do it after i graduate university. Say you start work a month or two later, I'm going on a Boy Meets World type road trip during that time. Wanna go from DC to Texas to Vegas to LA to SF to Chicago then back to the East Coast. It's a shame I still haven't seen the Pacific Ocean

the farthest i've driven was from jersey to nashville which was 14 hours. But cosign those truck drivers; i think they're worse than nyc cab drivers. Not on this trip but one time this truck driver would not let me pass him. nikka was swerving over 3 lanes to keep me from passing him. Had to do a fukking juke move; fake right than go left. Got in front of him and gave him the
