Anybody ever tried panhandling? I heard you can make $100 a day.

that's a lot of money for for doing your own thing and people watching.

I was at Union Square today and some dude who looked very clean, and was calmly drawing on a sketch board had a sign that said something like "If 100 people give me 50 cent each, me and my brother would have a place to stay tonight. The dude didn't look like he was struggling, but nowadays in NYC, you can't tell. Just saying, his box was being filled up and he didn't seem restless or bored.

All I need is like 60 bucks for about 10 days.

Is it even illegal still? everyone does it.

sometimes you can. i would busk years ago but i know that ain't the life for me. actually, i did it only because the band that was doing it ask me to fill in for their saxophonist while he was in europe so it wasn't something i was trying to do, more like something i was roped into and didn't turn it down after i found out we'd play in the streets some days. the thing is in NOLA on royal street, everyone's pretty much busking, sometimes like two different groups within a block over an 8 block span. a lot of people get up early in the morning and claim spots because it's that vicious. and then they got a lot of unwritten rules between the buskers, like you're only suppose to be out in a space for 3 hours, give some time to the other bands that want to make money, etc. and that's just on one street in the quarters. you go in the square, groups playing out there all day long. it's considered a rite of passage for some in the past. i don't mind it but it really doesn't pay as much as you think it would, and there's no way to determine exactly how much you'd make. i'm more about putting on shows on a stage and getting paid as a professional; organized.

I don't know, could do a gofundme, but not is a mode to write something heartfelt , compelling, and eloquent.

Then I'd figure I'd have to put my picture up for more cash cause I have a nice smile and soft face.
