Does This Mean I'm Losing If I'm Just Using The Router The Cable Company Gave Me? :lupe:
How long have you had the service? I'm sure they're charging you extra to "rent" their equipement

Nothing beats a good ol wired connection. Especially if you connected directly to your providers device.

Have $50 routers and expect optimal performance :mjlol:

If you have multiple users or live in a house, and don't have and atleast a dual bands router.

You are losing hard.
Will wait for the supposedly huge Amazon Day Sale on the 15th to see if one of the ASUS AC routers is on sale before I cop. I got the info that I needed out of this thread.

But honestly, when I first got this router, I was only paying for like 20-25mbps and that's what I was getting over wifi as well. Now that Comcast has upped my speeds over the years, it's still only 20mbps over wifi but my wired is much faster. I'll upgrade the router and problem solved.

Powerlines connectors are great too if you want a reliable connection and not have to worry about dropped signals.

I also have a powerline with my router and it works very well too. It's a gigabit one, but a few years old.

For anyone else that might be router hunting here is a good resource

:salute: to brehs using powerlines I've been using those for a while now. I moved into a new house and the powerline doesn't perform as well. I'm sure that general location of the outlets i'm using and interference is the cause but haven't had the time to really start testing.
