Skip stocks. There are better ways to invest your money. Mark Cuban breaks it down nicely between 02:10 and 02:55 in this video:

Your research game has to be of quality...

And even then its not a guarantee...

Before you invest,hit the books on sectors and different industries.....

Getting started isnt the issue,its once your in the game

This guy talks about Penny Stocks. They have a rightfully so horrible reputation, and his marketing style is funny style (He's like a rapper talking about stocks)...but it works for some people.
