I try and I do. But a lot of black businesses often make me regret selecting them for my business.
- I told y'all about that tree service company debacle before where they came, cut the tree, hauled some of the debris and were supposed to come get the rest (4 tree trunks) the next day. They avoided me for over 4 months before they finally came and picked up the rest of the tree trunks they had cut and that was after I started harassing them again months later. I should have listened to my cousin when she told me never to pay a black owned small businesses in full upfront until the job was completely done.
- My latest episode was dealing with a black real estate attorney. I regretted it almost days after paying him the retainer. After I paid him, it was only then that this clown was THEN telling me all the things he's NOT gonna do. He also lacks bedside manners. Not to mention I later found out his rates were almost 4 times what they normally charge for the simple deed correction that I needed him to do for me.
Apparently I have no luck with some black businesses so moving forward I put them to a stringent vetting process before I hire them.
But the black businesses I've always supported are my barber, my tax person, and my landscaping guys which some of the landscape guys have done me dirty too on side projects. One even stole from me and had the nerve to text me asking why I don't hire him anymore.
Supporting black restaurants goes without saying of course.
Also the local bar I frequent (TEN-ATL) is also owned by a cool black breh.
