I'm tryna make $300k/yr brehs.:wow:

I'm looking at Real Estate as an option. They make it sound easy. The barrier to entry is low. It's so many in the Atlanta market

Ohh he's a Real Estate Agent. Yes, this is believable, not a scam at all

When he said "This year so far I made $8 million in sales" it made sense. He probably specialized in Luxury Real Estate. $600k + homes
The commissions you would get are really good. And he probably gets by on word of mouth as well

All these people on social media and elsewhere who make content showing off or telling people the "secret" to how they made X-dollars are either scammers, telling half truths, or they happened to be extraordinarily lucky for a period of time.

It's always these no-name people. Who is Trey Williams? Who is Virgil Gordon? I get it. They might be successful but wouldn't you rather listen to evergreen advice from someone with decades of experience?

I always find these people are selling the image of wealth rather than teaching the intricate details of finance. Just skim through the video. Four minutes into the video and all they're doing is looking at his Maybach and playing with the massage seats.

You hear a lot of empty words.
"Change your mental and your actions should follow"
What??

He was talking about how he read "The Secret" -- one of the stupidest books of all time. He likes Joel Osteen. He read Napoleon Hill...like virtually everyone. Talking about "law of resistance". :beli:

I know I'm sounding negative but I just don't see what anyone could possibly get out of these guys. It's always the same thing. Read this. Hustle hard. And you can get these extraordinarily rare results like me. Yeah. Sure, dude.

the new scam these days is these so-called experts don't make money in their specific line of expertise. they almost ALL make most of their money selling you the tools and courses that supposedly "teach" you how to be like them.

I'm just gonna say this from experience. If they spend all day on social media, whether it's making videos or posting, doing live stream they're 9.99999999 times out of 10 gonna waste your time and money. Thing is there's a lot of black folks in real estate that you can get in contact directly who can put you on game that are much more realistic and not just filling your head with empty promises.

Real estate is a grind, I didn't get into it to be a realtor per se, it's an option if I need it.
@UpAndComing on the whole is making all the good points.
It's a lot of work and knowhow.
Dude most likely deals with luxury residential and commercial probably.
If you recognize the barrier to entry is low, others do, too.
Real estate software also exists, some realtors want you to know Yardi.
Areas I'm courting want certifications and knowhow in other disciplines.

Just was telling a friend this . That’s not to say that the courses are wrong and not valuable information but when you buy a course its pretty much them telling you what their going to do with your money :mjlol: .

The fastest way to get rich is sell a product their product is the course . Not invest , not buy real estate but sell a product .THEN they’ll take that money and buy real estate

That doesn’t mean courses are scams. a good course has all the info you need organized step by step it’d a win -win you get the course they get money. But it’s extremely hard to get rich off real estate without a income not dependent on real estate to buy the houses .

You not going to “flip” a house effortlessly over and over with nothing to invest initially. You need to spend money to make money and if you don’t have money to spend :francis::yeshrug:

Right? I remember like 20 years ago there was this infomercial with this idiot in a Dollar Signs suit selling his book on how to get all this money from the government.
And anyone with 2 brain cells would ask themselves "if you're so rich, why are you on tv every night at 3am selling a book about how rich you are?"

:what:

Matthew Lesko was his name: Matthew Lesko - Wikipedia
In an interview with the Washington Post in July 2007, Lesko admitted having assembled his books from government guides to grants and loans, quoting Lesko as saying of his first book "I plagiarized the whole thing" and "I didn't write a lick." Lesko later added "I get stuff for free and I sell it for as much as I can get."[10]

I mean look.

I’m not trying to be a dikk. The dudes obviously have money.

What bothers me about things like this is, I don’t think it’s replicable. I don’t know how many other people can do this, but it’s portrayed as if anyone else can. And I think those are highly unique circumstances.

I’m not mad at people who enjoy the content as entertainment or whatever. Maybe I sound harsh. But that’s just how I view it.
