People always sweat the 808 kick Never hear people talk about the 909. Especially in hip-hop where it hits different than the 808.

Yes my mpc live comes with 909 and 808 samples.

That 808 kick is heavy and you gotta mix around it..909 kick I can have on a track with some nice heavy bass without taking too much low from my bass if at all

Bruh, if you side chain them to the bass you might not have to take any off at all. I’ve done it a few times.

The 909 has better swing and shuffle. The claps and snare are crisper. Only the kick is analog while everything else are samples. The 909 is famous for house and dance but a few famous r&b and Hip hop have used 909s.

I never had the actually machine but I do use the sounds in other software. Most recently, roland cloud. The 909 to me hits harder but the 808 has a smoother sound to its kicks.
