If so, how hard was it? Was there a shyt load of taxes? How long was the process? We are thinking of buy some land with a pond or near the savanah river in Augusta. We currently live in a sub division - it's cool and all. But I would like more free range and privacy.

Anyone got any personal experience, either through yourself or someone close?

My dad bought 3 acres and built a house on it, the house itself only took like 6 weeks but I guess it really depends on the county you wanna build in and the regulations they have in place, some places are relatively easy while I've known a few people who were given the run around when they built their house

I did in Jamaica grandpa left me land and I built a house

Its far easier and cheaper overseas for sure.....you gotta go through a lot of BS in the states unless your fully funding and going about it yourself.....

My mom , along with my two uncles, have several acres of land in Mississippi. My cousin , who lives near the land, has been wanting to buy it off of her for years. After all, he's been managing it and paying the tax . He builds homes for celebrities (he built Luda 's house ) so he probably wants to redevelop the property once my mom sells her share. My Uncles on the other hand, one in Richmond, Ca , the other in ATL , haven't been as open with selling off :lolbron:

Even though my mom is in Sacramento , she does go down to Mississippi at least once a year to see family so I thought she was going to hold on to it to build a Summer home but it's more logical to sell it to my cousin :yeshrug:

depending on where you are, get you some livestock or animals for that tax break.

That works here in Texas.
