OK
I've lived here most of my life, it's laid back like my demeanor so it's a perfect fit for me.

You definitely have to watch yourself around the cops, they'll look for any reason to pull u over. The racists here are definitely on the subliminal side. I'm constantly on my :mjpls: around people I don't know.

Weather can be very inconsistent and you must stay vigilant during tornado season.

There are plenty of quality women here, especially in the college towns.

All in all, OK is a lot more than the stereotypes would have u believe.

OK is terrible. I lived there for four years. Worst place I've ever lived. Tornados, racists, absolutely nothing to do, the state is run by baptists, 3.2 beer, etc.

I hate tx too, but TX > OK

I've actually never met as many racists as when I lived in OK.

Tulsa is alright though...

What did you dislike about Texas though?

As opposed to Chicago, where whites tell you which part of the city you can live in?
:usure:
The only thing that dictates that here is cash money :manny:

On what there is to do: in no way does OKC compete with Dallas or Chicago, but it's getting better.....and fast.

The thing about Dallas though, is, Downtown Dallas is baren as hell. Barely anybody there at night. Is OKC like that?

Yeah I'm a laid back fella as well, so maybe it will work out for me. I just don't wanna get up there and realize I'm in 1960s Alabama. :sadcam:

And, OKC has a tornado season? :dahell:

I've lived in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas for brief stints. I dislike the culture and how conservative it was there. Plus I hated the weather (I like it cold). Houston is probably the best of the three in my opinion. I hear Austin is the shyt, so if I ever move back to TX (which I might soon), I'm looking for a job there.

I just don't like the "good ol' boy" "cowboy" culture they have there. I mean it's not all like that, but compare TX to other parts of the country and you see a big difference.

:ehh: Well as someone who's lived in the midwest like you (I lived in Indianapolis), I always liked Dallas because it seemed less conservative than the midwest, or maybe that was just Indianapolis where a lot of rich cacs live. :yeshrug:

You gotta shake this perception you have in your head, as if cops are beating nyggas asses on a daily basis & whites are going around calling you nygga. It isnt like that. As someone said, you got a lot of predominantly black areas like the eastside, northside, ect in the actual city. Now that I think about it, the majority of the public highschool's in the city are black.

The tornadoes are a problem. When you grow up in a tornado area, you become accustomed to it & have no fear, but they've been so bad lately that I cant wait to get out.
