...but a French film about class, supposedly not about race, just two unlikely people from different backgrounds making friends

Heard alot of positive reviews about it. But you gotta be weary on foreign shyt cuz people will like it to be hip and trendy. Also hipsters and too cool for the room fakkits will be like that . But i did hear a couple reliable sources speak on it and say it was good. They doing a remake for american audiences right now

Its on my radar big time. Its getting great reviews and some backlash. (they say the black dude is c00nin' big time).


I'mma look for it.. seems like something Netflix would add to the instant stream

It's a good movie. It's not your typical white guilt, black savior movie.Actually it's not even a white guilt movie at all.Both characters don't give a fukks. Thank god for that. in the end, they both benefit from each other. great balance of comedy, especially from Omar (black dude) and drama. great acting. This is the second highest grossing movie in France history too. Black dude even got a Ceasar this year for best actor. It's funny because in the book, the black dude's character is North African.

Great movie, went to the cinema twice. I read the reviews and the IMDB boards after I saw the movie twice and I'm disgusted that most of the things I read are such things as "This movie is racist" and "The black guy is an Uncle Tom". The movie isn't racist at all and is a great movie about friendship. Why can't people just enjoy a good movie without trying to push their black and white agenda.

Its a really good movie that even though it uses the "Magical Nego" archetype it does it in a way that does not come off cloying and insulting. The black dude being poor is played up more than his skin color to be honest and the relationship between him and the rich white guy is hilarious.
