Anybody used Priceline's "Name Your Price" feature for a flight?

Thinking about using it for a flight next week, but I'd like to hear a couple experiences with it first.

The price I put in that was accepted was damn near half the original cost :damn:

I know you don't get to choose your flights, but they'll leave the day you want and return the day you want as well.

I would be careful doing that....

Those third party booking channels are there to make money first
They could give a shyt less if you make it to your destination or not.

Something comes up and that flight had to be cancelled, man. :pachaha:

I subscribe to Consumer Reports and last month they used Hotwires name on your own price option. Ended up in a 4 1/2 star hotel in an upscale area of the Chi. After booking they couldn't get a deal anywhere close to that price. Saved more than $150. I know it's not a flight but hey at least you know the shyt isn't a scam.

or end up staying in a shytty hotel, in a shytty city, having to make calls
back and forth to your destination hotel, rearranging dates, paying extra charges and fees, all because you decided to be cheap:yeshrug:

Flights is a while other animal, but I too can vouch for hotels. It's the best way to do it if you're going to a city where you don't have a specific hotel that you need to stay at.

Didn't even know they did it for flights. I'd bet they're legit, I just don't know how bad the headaches would be (long layovers stupid connections etc). I have fam who works for a major airline and they def try to offload unsold seats to what they call "consolidators"
i don't know how they handle cancellations, but I'd bet it's just like a regular ticket and the airline takes care of you, but you'd better check.

I wouldnt do it for flights unless you have a full day to burn, both departing and returning.

Because you dont know what time ur flight is gonna be until after u book it.
