To which I said: Racism is a systematic oppression of another people using wealth and power. Whites have been doing this to blacks for over 500 years.
Then he responded: no. that actually is not what racism is. that's oppression. "whites" consist of hundreds of cultures that have also oppressed each other too
moreover, there's a difference between racism/discrimination and oppression. and by saying all whites are to blame, you too are racist.
I said: The classic "you're a racist for saying someone a racist". Blacks can discriminate against whites, but they can't be racist to them because
they don't have the power too, you see this when, whites discriminate against blacks economically and face almost no consequences
Then he responded: the circumstances still don't disprove what i'm saying. being racist is to judge/discriminate someone based on race - not whether there are consequences or not. you judging white people based solely on their race IS racism, and vice versa, regardless of who benefits
