I work full time but a part time job I had not too long ago contacted me and said they want me to work there again.

Once I told them my hours for my full time job they said they'd be willing to give me whatever hours I wanted.

Mon-Fri weekends off.

I'm thinking about doing it. Simple desk job.

Any of y'all do both before and did you feel like you had no free time?

your stars are but dust on my shoes
This ain't gonna help you at all, but I do know a machinist who works at a shop in the day time, and then he's a school janitor in the evenings. He told me it's relaxing cause he's alone at the school, and I do believe him. If I could score a job as a janitor with the district, I would probably do it as a side job over something like Uber any day.

I was thinking something like Uber eats or whatever in the evening and some weekends... Anyone do this? Is there any money in it.

Yea I'd be alone in my office too. I'd start at 3 and boss is usually already gone by then.

I did it once when I was younger(at one point I was taking classes and tutoring as well). I worked it out so that I could do each of my obligations but had no free time. I literally spent 6 hours home most days and that time was spent sleeping(I was showering at the gym). I didn't even do it for the money. I did it because I loved my part time job. Eventually though it takes a toll on you. One thing I learned from the experience and tell people all the time, time is truly priceless. Today I won't even work OT. If something requires me to work over 8 hours a day, I am leaving early the next day.

Worked from 7am to 4 pm - Construction/Hardware sales/delivery.

7pm to 1 am on a massive data entry/filing project that wanted volunteers with said experience.

Home by 2 am. Bath, then bed at 3 am

Slept until 6am

repeat.

I'm riddled with neurosises and coupled with insomnia so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for me since I was already keen on staying up late and getting by on 3-4 hours of sleep from my University days, but I literally had no free time and made no effort to interact with anyone or anything else other than the work.

I was doing it for the extra money which went towards obligations I wanted to fulfill as quickly as possible, so going into a drone mode like that with the eventual conclusion that leads to a big pay out was the goal I pushed for solely, so I had no problem forsaking everything else, even my Ex girlfriend at the time, but she understood and was supportive just as long as we got to spend time together on Sunday, my one day off.

I've no problem following monotonous routines and I'm not the type to get "Bored" so falling into such a pattern never really bothered me, but that's me.

If you need money now for whatever reason (pay off debt, emergency, etc) I would suggest doing it.

Otherwise, this lifestyle is usually short-lived and you may be able to do it for 1,2 maybe 3 years before you hate your life.

I feel like the most sustainable side gig for most people is one that is or encompasses their hobbies. ( Sell art if you like to paint, Do small shows if your a musician, do makeup if your into makeup etc )

when i lived in south florida i worked a full time and part time job, along with dog walking for like 10 hours a week (mostly just hanging out with the dog) and that shyt sucked. i made more hanging out with a dog then i did my full time and part time job combined :stopitslime:

waking up at 4 to be in work for 5, working until 10, dog walking 2 hours, rushing home to change and eat to be at work for 1, riding a bike 3 miles to work in 90 degree weather, not getting out until 9 or 10 fukking sucked.
