nikkas die everyday b.Is this a joke?
I just used some of my paid time off and took off this Friday, just so I can for a regular medical check-up
My old dr. Retired...and i only used to goto him maybe once every other year.
Every new doctor i call has a 3 month waiting list for new patients...so i've basically just said fukk it.
love..I can't even begin to tell you what a horrible mistake you would be making to avoid the doctor. ...there are so many diseases you can have that are treatable in the early stages...
What if you contracted an STD unknowingly and passed it on to your spouse?
Shiit like this makes me appreciate not fuking...it's scary that so many people walk around not knowing their health status. ...
I try to schedule everything on the same day. Doctor's and Dentist for both my daughter and I. Long day but it's only once a year.
Yes but I'm not only talking about STDs....and there are only a limited amount of quick test being done in clinic's like HIV...
Honestly this thread isn't that different from the average conversation about healthcare
This is one of the big issues that keep people from going to the doctors regularly.
Different professions/economic situations allow for different options.
A 3 month wait list for an 8minute appointment.
To be fair, getting a regular check up is very different from going to get tested for STDs.
If you're a college student, you can walk into your school clinic and get a check up on the spot.
If you're out of school and you're experiencing symptoms you can (emphasis on can) go to the ER. Or you can call in, go to the office and see if they can fit you in if someone misses an appointment. (This is not the same as going to the ER)
But you can't follow the same process for a regular check up.
Yeah this is probably the best way to go about it. This is a great way to exhibit control over your life and your health. Just go ahead and schedule your doctor's appointments, eye exam and dental appt within the same relative time. This way you're not worried about using too much of your personal time from work.

You work in healthcare? Is the STD rate really as high for blacks as stats say they are?![]()
