A nicca gets tired of hearing the same old stories rehashed by a new artist. I can usually predict the whole verse based off the first two bars of the song, it gets boring.

Thats music in general. Dont single out hiphop. Go look up the country charts, peep the song titles and u can pretty much predict the rest.

I bought a Carbon 15 when I was 18
I'm seriously gettin tired of this whole genre. Mainstream hip hop is unbearable to listen to, I usually only check for local artists now when it comes to rap, at least some of them try to have their own style.

If the thoughts you chose led to to make this thread, then what does that say about your state of mind

there's literally no new artist out who hasn't already done or said something that an artist from the 80,90s,early 00s hasn't already touched on to keep it 100.

the word rehashed you used is definitely proper when defining modern hiphop.

J cole for example, I listened to some of his new album and I like it......but Nas did it better 15 yrs ago.

Same applies to Kendrick Lamar.....Pun did it better.

Drake.... Jay Z and LL did it better......etc

:manny:

Kanye was the last original rap artist to blow up IMO.

its almost like theres just nothing more to even say. like everything that had to be said was said.

thats the fate of all music though eventually everything just becomes a tribute band of a tribute band.

I guess its cause hiphop is in its 5th gen (in console analogy terms) and sh1t is just stale to us now, especially for those who've been listening since the very beginning........its tired now

:ld:

1st generation: Melle Mell, Kurtis Blow, Kool Moe Dee, Busy Bee, Run DMC, Grand Master Cash etc....

2nd gen: KRS, Rakim, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, NWA, Ice Cube, Kool G Rap, MC Lyte etc

3rd gen:
Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, Big L, Wu Tang Clan, Tupac, UGK, Outkast, Common, Gangstar, Fugees, Snoop dogg, Dr. Dre etc

4th gen: Eminem, Ja Rule, TI, 50 cent, Jadakiss & LOX, DMX, Lauryn Hill, Canibus, Ludacris, Big Pun, Hot Boys & Lil Wayne, No limit, Beanie Sigel, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Cam'Ron, NORE, Smack and battle rap DVDS etc

5th gen : modern hipster sh1t, swag and skinny jeans, accompanied by garbage trap rappers who get regular praise :why:

I've been listening since the 2nd/3rd gen and I'm honestly tired of it now to be honest....4th gen was the last time it was exciting to me

Life Is Good and GKMC must be the 1% because I never thought either would be as great as they turned out to be
