due to the cost of everything going up, its almost as if you really didnt get a raise unless for some reason you get a huge ass raise.

Don't get me wrong I love raises, but its almost like a year later everything is even back out in regards to taxes, insurance, and things of that nature

I take any raise I get. I'm happy for it but it evens out when I consider that they have doubled my premiums at work for insurance, the extra 2% on the tax, and cost of living increases here and there.

Exactly. I'm not complaining cause I want my pay compensation to be as much as possible...but when i got my last raise i had to work at a different office thats about 15 min further than my old one.

so take the fact that im paying a little more in taxes...paying more in gas...plus i gotta spend an extra 30 minutes a day in my car? all that completely negates any profit i would see from the raise.

but when i look for another job closer to home next year i will obviously want to reference the higher pay so you gotta look ahead.
