Anyone else have a historically important (black) family?

My grandad came back from Vietnam and the other one retired after 20 years working at Boeing.

One lives in Texas, the other in Washington State. Historically speaking, I'm from a family of warriors and brilliant engineers.

my grandfather knew a lot of state secrets (worked at a submarine base) and was a millionaire before he died off of fixing and flipping houses.

My grandfather on my dad's side was the first black radiologist or some shyt like that, and MLK stayed at his crib in Chicago a few times in the 50's. Pop actually played in a band with Herbie Handcock when they were in high school too.

Didn't know him or or my dad so...

My grandfather was the first person from his hometown to study abroad. He studied textiles at the University of Leeds, then went back to Nigeria and became the first indigenous black Nigerian manager at his workplace, a cotton mill. Minor shyt but still pretty interesting.

not much outside of how to do general contract work and fix the house up yourself instead of hiring people to get maximum profit. i always admired how much care he put into turning a piece of shyt house into something people would actually want to live in. my grandpa was a talented dude.

but nah he ain't teach me shyt about the rest of it.



honestly i think the house flipping market is different now. this was all in the 90s/early 2000s when he was doing it. now adays im sure someone with a little bit of money and some mexicans could be flipping houses left and right.
