Anyone else not care about Storylines?

This recent build-up to Mania has been a train wreck of fukkery, and not the good kind. I think DB’s road to Mania in 13/14 was the last storyline I was invested in.

I just care about the matches.

You’ve gotta have a storyline. No matter what it is a storyline makes it more compelling. Who would’ve cared about Rocky if he had just gotten knocked out by Apollo in the first round? Stone Cold had a point when he walked out after they wanted him to lose to Brock in a regular match. That was a box office attraction.

Right now they’re pretty much shyt at even accidentally falling into a good storyline so I see your point tho.

I care about good storylines which don't exist largely. At this point, all I ask for is a decent promo vid to hype the match and that the match deliver.

While a storyline is not the end all of wrestling, it makes a huge difference to make me interested in the product. Even if it's in a match, there's got to be some sort of rhyme and reason or else I don't give a damn about the product.
