Anyone else not interested in Elden Ring Nightreign?

I never thought at the start of this generation if you told me two major fromsoft games were releasing over the next year that i wouldn’t have any interest in either of them.

I feel like this game is the exact opposite of why i like fromsoft games. I like creating a character and exploring the world/map at my own pace. Picking a pre-made character and just constantly running around trying to beat the fortnite forcefield, refighting the same enemies, in the same area (limgrave-yawn), and starting over like a rogue-like just sounds very not souls-like.

also, after elden ring being the main event and erdtree being the after party i kind of feel like im sick of elden ring. This feels like some week old thanksgiving leftovers. They keep trying to make different sandwiches out of it.


i almost think if it were more structured like monster hunter with your own character and targets it’d be much more appealing.

between this and duskbloods we might not get another single player fromsoft game this generation. I feel like if this were any other single player developer putting out back to back multiplayer games there’d be a lot more vocal scrutiny about it

Yeah, it's a non-interest for me atm. Elden Ring was obviously FromSoft's magnum opus and while I never truly finished it, I enjoyed the 65+ hours I put into it. But at the same note, I'm a bit done with them for a while. I'd like for them to do something more different and these next two games are them is mostly just them digging into their old bag, for better and worse.

Yeah, their beneath the surface style of story-telling doesn't wow me over either. Also, I'm a bit over their laborious combat style tbh. I'm honestly enjoying their clones attempts at their combat, as sacriledge as that may sound. Like, I think they do almost everything else better, than that.

It's only $40. Im in. If its not shyt then oh well. There's some things I'm on the fence about like the party system and connection quality. & What's this room key shyt. I gotta check in just to play with friends. It is what it is.

Regarding it being multiplayer, they just gave us two back to back GOAT single players experiences. Its like Rockstar doing GTA/RDR Online.. we'll allow it

I barely started Erdtree when I jumped on sale. I ain't even care about Nightreign at this point. I felt like it was the same shyt with no story to tell.

From already stated they're still gonna primarily make single player games despite Nightreign and Duskbloods. Nightreign is a $50 game too so I ain’t gonna hold em


That being said, despite Elden Ring being an all time top 5 game for me, I have very little interest in this for the same reasons you stated

You should try Armored Core 6 if you haven’t already. Much faster paced combat and mission-based gameplay loop. 10/10 action game and plays totally different from their other titles

Yeah, I'm aware of AC6 and I have, at best, middling interest in it. I'm not into mech shyt. And, from what I understand, it still follows their meager means story philosophy.

this feels like it should be free to play this would been packaged in the game of the year verision for the ps3
