Anyone else Notice this About Rapper's Fanbases?

something i noticed back in highschool/late teen years is that a lot of rappers main fanbase live lifestyles the opposite of what the rapper promotes, shyt has me

examples:

Kids in highschool who didn't smoke used to love that Wiz Khalifa weed is cool shyt

Richest dude i knew (parents not him) loved banging that Ace Hood motivational shyt even though his parents always got him$$$

The white, church going squeaky clean kids in HS loved that Satanic Odd Future shyt

i don't notice this shyt as much as before, but basically it seems people always like rappers who promote opposite of their own lifestyle. i.e--> people that live straight & narrow love ignorant rap etc etc

Maybe it's because it gives the listener a peak into something new and unusual to them, which they may find exciting.
