Anyone else noticed a surge in people asking for money to pay for their groceries?

It's opportunism, not hard times leading people to approach you.

I used to get caught like that when I was younger. They are taking advantage of the fact that you will look out for your people.

NOBODY goes to the supermarket without enough cash or resources to buy food. And if it totals more than what you have, adjust your shopping list.
I have a generous heart as well, and con artists see that as an opening.

fukk them.
I very rarely help strangers out, not even with some spare change, but I figure times are really tough so I made an exception. If I was a lick in those two situations, it didn't put a dent in my budget even though I'm not a 6-Figure breh. If I kept saying no all the time I'm cold and heartless though:yeshrug: I do think people are definitely plotting so I've got to look out for myself and immediate family first

"The first rule of fundraising is: don't give nothin' to nobody, period. No charities, homeless people, Salvation Army, Red Cross, starvin' Africans — nothin'! You can't be raising funds and giving funds away at the same time."

Wait, aren't you the guy who posts the "laughing at guys with entry level luxury vehicles" threads?
Shouldn't your valets and maids be doing your food shopping for you?

*heheheheh
