Can you explain how it works, and what are your goals with this?
Basically you buy a domain name for something you think might be searched often like a medical term you then place ads on that page without actually setting up a website.

Also gotta think from an SEO perspective which will pop in the next 5-10 years. Long term bet.

I don't have any specific knowledge of the strategies other than that it helps to have a financial background and lots of free time. I advise anyone who is a college student to try their hand at looking at biotech for example. Maybe buy "Biosimilars.com" if it's not already bought. With SEO being the hottest it's ever been content-wise, having the right domain name is a lot. It can make or break a business along with some other key factors. It depends on the organization but they could potentially give you upwards of $1 million for the domain, especially dot coms specifically, not so much .biz and the other ones.

I would not advise focusing on the ads unless you have a background optimizing ads in Google AdSense or DoubleClick for Publishers. Obtain experience using Google AdSense first and then you could try, but the income stream will be very low because you'll get NO clicks and just a ton of impressions. But the CPMs (Cost per Mille or thousand impressions) you can command will be very low like $0.01-$0.05 because these are extremely low quality impressions with no intent or value.
