Anyone ever had a job that lost their check or didn't pay them on time?

made this thread, cuz I was just checking my bank, and my check was there of course, but about 10 years ago, my wife had a shytty job where the owners stayed holding the checks a week after pay day and bouncing paychecks. got to the point where I had to call them and say that she wasn't coming back in that joint until they produced that cash.

as for me, I have luckily NEVER had this problem. I guess I worked for reputable companies over the years (comcast, verizon, caterpillar to name a few).

It's happened at my job a few times where my sup didn't enter my PTO hours in the system and I was shorted like 50 to 100 dollars in my direct deposit, they overnighted me a check by monday

I used to run a detail shop, which was a good business, the owner sucked shyt w/ money. Telling me to hold my check extra time and all that. As soon as that started happening, I was gone.

This reminds me of my exes dad who used to tell me stories of how he worked at a shop and he couldn't pay him on time or told him to wait on that check so he started taking payments by taking expensive tools from the shop

I fukking kid you not, you would see expensive ass lifts and jacks, supplies to paint cars and just random assortment of tools, some with the shyt saying property of on the item

I worked in a corp office for a company and also handled parts of payrole. The company was having financial trouble we already knew they were struggling. People would be calling for different debts, popping up at the office ect...One day my check was not in my account. Got to work same story with my coworkers. Turns out they didn't have enough money to cover all the paychecks so they decided we(in the office) could wait a few days . Like you weren't going to say anything? Ask or nothing? I knew I had to jump ship soon.

I think it happened once at my old job where it was a holiday or something and they didn't turn in payroll on time & we had to wait an extra day to get paid. People was pissed off over that, I couldn't imagine waiting a week

actually that happened to me once at my last job. I worked from home one day, and they forgot to put that in the system, cuz I couldn't enter time remotely, so my check came up short.

I worked 4 doubles one time. I got paid for 40 hours then they tried to tell me it was a law saying I couldn't work that many hours so they would pay me in cash.
