Anyone ever had a job that lost their check or didn't pay them on time?

man, I come into the office and my check ain't in my account, you best believe I'm walking right back out the door.

they already got two weeks of free labor, lets not add more to it.

where do y'all find this stuff.

It was a lot of shady stuff going on there...We never knew what was going to happen or what all was happening. That was one of the last straws.

I have @ 2 spots usually it's a sign that the owner is a dirt bag or the are barely making enough money for pay roll.

I always got paid the correct amount, but they would either put in pay roll late so it wouldn't make the direct deposit till Saturday or Monday... then they'd blame Paychex for the fukk up. or just disappear for a couple of days so they didn't do shyt. The first location did it twice then closed down the 2nd spot did it probably a half dozen times. She also went out of business.

Obviously I don't work for either one but that's crucial red flag. 1 time is unacceptable but shyt happens anything over that don't come back to work till you have your money.

I use to do HVAC/plumbing back in the day. My boss/owner was on some real shady shyt, he'd always have an excuse why he couldn't pay us on friday, checks bounced a couple times but always paid up. Guy I was working for was always bragging about eating steaks/lobsters and spending his money on females.

All the work we did was for wealthy clients, multimillion dollar homes. So we knew the people we did work for and no excuse why they couldn't pay.

One day at a job, this doctor asked me why I didn't thank him for a bonus. I'm like "what bonus" he said "I gave Rob 500 to give to you, and everyone else should have got $500 as well for getting the work done and this house sold"

I was fukking heated, so friday comes no checks, no boss, calls go to voice-mail. Monday comes we show up to work, still no checks, no boss, voice-mail.

Tuesday, I don't show up. I get a call and my boss asks me "why aren't you at work", no check=no work. But I told him I was on my way to the pawn shop, because I had his tools and equipment with me and I was gonna pawn everything of his and the company till I got a check. He cut that check and I quit. I did keep all the tools and sold em. That was my bonus to me

Say breh,how did u like being an have tech? I'm planning to start my certification this fall,only cuz I have an in-law that a higher up in a big HVAC company and can put me on,how was your experience going to school and actually working in that field?

A life time ago, when I was still a lowly student and desperate, I worked in a restaurant. It was meant to be cash in hand, and you get paid at the end of the day. I start work, get tips and shyt, and this bytch of a manager comes along saying: "All the waiting staff will split the tips at the end of day, so deposit it in the tip thing." Stupid and naive as I was, I did. At the end of the day, I go to get paid, and she says: "Well, this is still your trial period, so you won't be getting paid today!" "However, if you work well, you''l get all you're due - apart from this trial period, of course - at the end of the week."

I stuck it till the end of the week. She acts like she's doing me a favour by paying me less than promised - tips included. Then she starts telling me the schedule for next week. I nod like I was down for all the back breaking labour she was expecting. Didn't go back. She called me. I told her to piss off, and that was it.

I did manage to drink a ridiculous amount of alcohol before leaving. And, to be honest, one of the reasons I stayed so long was the hostess girl. She was down for it and I would have. . . should have. . . but I was in a relationship with my bytch of an ex and I'm not built for cheating. Her friend was even hotter (long legged Caribbean girl. Don't know if she liked me like that. I'd like to think she did).

My advice is learn as much as you can on the job and get paid for it, ask questions on the job. I learned how to weld on my lunch breaks, and I moved myself up from doing hvac/plumbing/electrical to pipe fitting. That helped me get other jobs, shut downs etc etc. If people see you're willing to work, learn people will look out for you and give you job leads etc etc.

Id work my 9-5 and go to night school during the week, school helped me with the basics on the job learning made everything fall into place.

Once you learn a skill and trade, its something that will always stick with you. You can go anywhere, and do almost anything and pay the bills.

Find a good trade school vs a college program.

Trade school was cheap and I networked while in class, that's how I got my first hvac job.
