I recently moved from Chicago to Austin, Texas. Ish is crazy. Any stories? How did it end up.
I moved 3 weeks ago from Richmond, Virginia to Salem, Oregon. I am quitting my job that I just started later on today. Long story short, I didn't thoroughly vet this organization. They processes are backwards, technology ancient, and I believe 1 of my co workers is racist. 2 of my co workers are my nightly supervisors, which I was just made aware today when I told my real boss that one of my co workers told me I'm on my phone too much. I literally just got off the phone with wells fargo and was approved for a $8000 loan. Going to the bank in about 10 minutes to sign the documents and get the money right now. I need cash reserves (probably won't spend the money, but I need it to hold me over until I find something else). I have never quit a job this quickly as an adult, but the conditions at the job make me feel very threatened. I get the sense that I will end up going off on someone and getting fired. It's that bad. Other than that I'm enjoying spending time with my girl here in Oregon. It's a beautiful state. Lots of racists here though, which I had no clue about.

Stay close with those you value and love. Best thing I can tell you.

It's an adventure that many aren't strong enough to deal with on their own.
I wonder why tho....why don't more ppl move? I got ppl in my family that don't even leave their neighborhood

At 23, a year after graduating college, I moved from Miami to Little Rock, Arkansas for a career opportunity that I couldn't say no to. I am not a very emotional person so I tend to take things as they come. The hardest adjustment was going from a big city to a small city. It was depressing at times but I hit the gym a lot and played soccer a lot.

A year and a half after that I moved to Atlanta via a job transfer knowing nobody and it was the best move in life. I love it here!!

We've moved to 4 different states over the past 8 years for school/jobs.

It's awesome to see different parts of the country, eat various local cuisine, and meet different types of people.

One of the difficult aspects of moving is that it's hard (for us at least) to develop new networks of friends. That, and being away from family (parents, siblings, etc) sucks especially if you're raising a family.
