Never owned one.
My friend owned a plain Forester. It drove well and didn't give him any problems except it was gas hungry because of AWD. If you really don't need AWD (whether you are racing or you live in a snowy region), look around for something else.

Are you looking to modify or keeping it stock?

I've worked on some when I was in the import scene,

As with other Japanese cars in the class the reliability is sold. If you look back ~10 years the overall designs age well and it can handle abuse or "spirited driving" , as long as the previous owner(s) took care of the it, they're pretty fun & responsive cars even the base models. Subis have a distinct engine sound due to the boxer engine which I love & the rumble almost muscular sound with a couple bolt-ons. If you buy the Imprezza you posted please lose those cheap aftermarket wheels ASAP :gag:
