Anyone ever seen a citizen's arrest in person?

Often, when I was a cop. When a loss prevention officer holds a shoplifter in custody or apartment security detains a trespasser, that's a citizen's arrest.

when I was a kid I seen the Guardian Angels take down this dude.....Yeah Im old...and here in Seattle there is this nikka named Phoenix Jones who is a crime fighter ()....saw him try to make an arrest one time....shyt was .....

Yes, citizen's arrest does exist. But, you will want to look up your state and local laws to see what is and is not allowed.

I've seen loss prevention people at the mall do it. I don't think the shoplifters legally had to stand there but they must have just been too to try and run away

Yeah, I never understand why people don't just leave when they're caught by loss prevention. Are they even legally allowed to detain you if you tell them you want to go?

I'll have to ask my friend. He has been doing it for different stores for years. He is a pretty big dude no homo so I can see why some shoplifters would be shook, but I think the actual mall cops are the only ones who can legally hold you.

i saw the nikka a couple of times down in pioneer square, i figured he was just dressin up to entertain the club goers cause i never seen him up around pike where the niccas really be slangin out in the open

isn't this the same thing as somebody doing something crazy then a whole bunch of dudes holding you on the ground till a cop arrives.
