So let's be 100. How many of ya'll actually take time to think about what you download/ torrent?

Just recently I was looking up tips for my camera and downloaded a book that was sold on amazon. While I was looking up information and checking a photo forum, I saw some cats posting about a program and spending their hard earned money for a program that's well over a couple grand. I just copped the program 2 days ago from some site without even thinking. :guilty:

Reading that and looking at the programs I've downloaded, I'm starting to think about my behavior. Not even in regards to the original creators, but more so the people that actually buy it. I'd usually dismiss them as simps but it's a weird kind of feeling. Almost like Karma is going to kick my ass.

Anyone else get this remorse?

I'm typing this while downloading a tv show.

Only shyt I don't pirate are video games and books. I don't know why I have a code of conduct for those but I'm pretty much :yeshrug: for everything else.

I used to pirate Blu-Ray MKVs, but I got tired of re-downloading every movie that I had when my HDD fukked up. I would easily pay for an HBO standalone, but since HBO refuses to do it for the US, I have no qualms pirating HBO shows. I pirate mostly single player games for the PC, but buy multiplayer ones.

When I was a broke college student (and a broke college grad for a while) I used to always say that once I got my $$$ right I'd support shyt that I like (movies, games, TV shows, etc.).

But...now I can afford to do so...and I still pirate shyt anyway out of habit/cheapness. :shaq2:

I can't pirate games anyways but if it's something I truly enjoy, I will usually support it. I always see movies in theaters if I can. Besides that, programs, music, books are usually fair game, with music being the same as movies. If I truly enjoy it, I'll purchase it

On a more philosophical note, I'd assume the internet would take down the walls of access and create a free access/ borderline barter society. There's too much greed and different systems to let that happen but I feel that type of society is almost inevitable with consumer behavior and access. Just my thoughts

The thing about doing that is it makes you never want to play games again. Theres something to be said about purchasing games yourself. When you got it for free, its just not as sweet. You just start a never ending quest to collect games, that you'll probably never play, even the hot ones.

Theres cats on craigslist givin out entire console libraries but the consumer doesnt know what they're getting into. Once they get home and have all them games, they're gonna be like, wtf am i doing with my life and downscale their gaming. Just buy the games u want.
