Discovered this guy a few days ago and his mixtape is pretty dope.. Thought Id share.. He's a NY dude and his voice kinda sounds like 50 sometimes . Production is fiiire

He wrote up a pretty interesting write up (it's a few pages) explaining his childhood and growing up in NY in the 90s if anyone cares to read it. Hes like 34.. I think?

And yeah I love how the production and hooks is sorta rock influenced at times. The production is super fire. The guy really just sounds and comes off authentic and not like a gimmick and a lot of new NYer rappers I don't get that from. Most of them are trying recreate a certain sound from an era they didn't really get to experience or be involved in so it comes off inauthentic, just trying to copy and it lacks soul..where this guy is different..totally has that older feel but it's fresh sounding and not gimmicky. Just dope hip hop.

gonna check this out. i like the beats. not the type of shyt you hear everyday. his rapping is ok... but i like that its not polished sounding. sounds like it was recorded in a garage with live instruments.

Agreed. I love that he doesn't sound polished and it's not overproduced. I listened to a lot of 80s lowfi punk shyt and at first it kinda bugged me cause some shyt just sounded muffled but over time I really learned to appreciate non polished shyt, there's something about it that gives it a more "organic" feel.

Please elaborate...give us a story. Cause RFC isn't well known to this generation so the few people that are up on them need all the info they can get you know a good story to dig your teeth into. A beef story that is.

ok here is a lil story rfc was a bunch of wild kids from nyc who wrote graff...they biggest beef was against a crew called "WON" aka WON CRU who were from the lower east side...when won was created the president actually made me vice pres along with my bombing partner...i grew up on the lower so we all went to the same high school...since i was pretty known i guess thats why they made vice pres...fast forward 3 yrs and the beef started to be honest i forgot why the beef started too much weed makes you lose your memory...any ways rfc catches one of won cru's members (Nar) on 14 st while he was riding his bike...my man nar got beat so bad they put 2 metal plates in his head they beat him with his own bike till this day that kid is not the same totally different person he moves in slo mo...now around this time im cool with both crews i grew up in the lower so i knew everyone from won cru...and i knew most of rfc cause i would be with my nikkas out in the ville...one day my man beeps me (yes beepers nikkas) to meet him on w4th st basketball courts our usual meeting spot we had some females we were linking up with cause thats what we did out there in the ville fukk mad bytches...so when i get there i saw a bunch of won cru nikkas across the street now mind you the ville was rfc territory but i didnt realize it at the time so i go across the street to politic with my nikkas and they all had on screw faces i know these nikkas so i was like wtf is wrong with you nikkas ? so chopped it up with them and they all still in a foul mood i look at my mans and tell him lets bounce the vibe wasnt feeling good and i didnt understand why nikkas acting like that...so i slap nikkas five and throw up the peace sign then they all left 2 mins go by and i see some rfc nikkas running up the block then rast walking up the block with his face all cut up dripping on his polo gear shyt was crazy...me and my nikka picked up the shorties then bounced in a cab cause rfc was rounding up and i know they had revenge on their minds...
