I have a green belt but only certified by a former employer. They wanted to take me all the way to black belt but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
It helped me get into my current job. I would say it's worth it and def looks good on a resume.

I'm going to either get another certification through a university so it'll look more official, but regardless I need to get my black belt asap.

I have my green belt. It is definitely a good look on your resume. Take what you learn from the free yellow belt class and work on getting your green or black belt. Apply that knowledge to your job and try to get a few official six sigma projects going at your job. It will pay dividends in the future for you.

All this drip on me
What is this
Certs that I've noticed a lot of industrial and mechanical engineers tend to have. It's basically centered around efficiency and quantifying how often there's a screw up/waste in any process and eliminating it.

My cousin who just graduated, got his greenbelt after taking a course that prepared him for it and he said it wasn't difficult when he decided to take the test.

My CEO has a risk management background and he said it was beneficial for him before he switched over from the previous industry he was in. It's a shame my career path doesn't really place an importance on obtaining lean six sigma belts because the concept of it is highly practical.

I'm looking into these now to see if they're beneficial to me.

I just had an interview last Friday and the woman mentioned this. My first time hearing about and I've been researching it. This is the type of stuff I've done on projects before, just generally focusing on process efficiency because I hate doing a menial task that a simple script can do for me. I'm definitely putting this on my list.

its a skill that is highly undervalued. If utilized properly in your thinking youd be surprised what you can improve not only in your job but also in the building of your assets.

you can apply these skills to a number of industries. I work in healthcare, and I've already finished the yellow belt class, and I'm bout to be done with the green belt next month. got both of the certs free thru my last job.

our instructors are both engineers by trade and have worked in the auto industry and technology, but they consult with hospitals a lot as well, so you can apply this type of process improvement methodology across a variety of industries.
