Anyone have a AMEX Platinum Card?

I've had a Platinum for about 5 years now. Every year my renewal fee is covered by some sort of retention bonus. Last year was my biggest, it covered my entire fee in points but I put about mid $$,$$$ on the card.

Perks I use the most are the lounges when traveling and the status's at the hotels and rental car companies. Also like buying cheap ass seats to see the Lakers and then squatting in the Centurion lounge there.

Sapphire Reserved is a better card than the Amex Platinum. The perks are more flexible. The only thing you're really losing are the Centurion lounges.

If I was you I'd upgrade your Preferred to the Reserved. The fee almost pays for itself with the $300 travel expense alone.

When they had that $1,200 (in points) bonus a bunch of my boys ate. I've had too long of a relationship with AMEX to bail on my Platinum. Still regret I didn't take advantage of that 120k bonus though.
