I’m a notary. Getting it in NJ is easy as fukk
you don’t have to take a test.

Thinking of trying this out, as with anything my criminal background is a problem but I'm looking to see if there's loopholes around it. As in, if I can pass the exam and all with flying colors and present myself as an upstanding civilian...
Just got my license in the mail today.![]()
a few dollars?
I was making hundreds each signing![]()

I just became one earlier this year. When were you last convicted and in what State do you wish to become a notary in?
Man that's dope!! How long did you have to take classes for in NY, and how long from passing your test to getting your license?
Why you stop? What state are you in, and what compelled you to start in the first place? What do you do now?
What's the process in Jersey like?
I'm in NC, last conviction was in July 2020 but my last conviction before that was March 2015...
One thing I've considered is if the 10-year thing is bulletproof in NC, to try to backdoor my way into getting it thru a state with fewer barriers, which could possibly help me get one here if I'm already licensed elsewhere...
I made this thread a year ago, this is obviously something I'm hella interested in pursuing...
I was doing it as a part time job and I pretty much stopped during the pandemic because of having to go into folks homes and I didn't think it was safe.
I would still do it as a part time job when folks call me. I mean, it's a hundred bucks, most times more for me to just show up and stamp folks up.
I once charged a lady $375 cause her father was close to the end in the hospital and she was trying to get power of attorney over his affairs. She needed me to drop what I was doing and come to the hospital immediately (40 min away) while he was still lucid.
I would still do it when I have time. So.eone called me last week. I just be busy. I'm a tech breh.

Thanks man.
I just bought a book on Amazon. You really don’t even need the book as all the info is on the state site, but it helps. I read the book twice, took 3 of the practice tests that were in the book and barely passed them. The next week I took the actual test and 2 weeks later was notified that I passed. Then all I had to do was have my application motorized and send it in with $60 fee Took about 5 or 6 weeks for me to get it back. About to order my stamp now and get the required insurance
I spoke too soon. They changed the process for first time applicants.Man that's dope!! How long did you have to take classes for in NY, and how long from passing your test to getting your license?

Funny to see this thread i just bought the book myself and plan on doing it part time because i got a full time job but when the OT slow down i wanted to supplement my income. Im in NY and someone told me to schedule the test was 4 months out.
What did u get on the test and was it multiple choice or essay answers about the laws?? Its summer time so i aint been studying it much but im bout to get on it during vacation next week
What is with this background check shyt? If I don't have any identity fraud charges why should it matter? I hate how having a record shuts you outta shyt that don't correlate at all...
What state are you in? Was there barriers to criminal backgrounds in your state?
The thing that caught my eye on this is how its kind of like passive income, once you have the licensing for it. I'd love being able to have it as something like you suggested, something if I felt like doing it or someone called me I could just do it...
4 months? Schedule it for 2 or 3 weeks from now. You can probably study for it in 4 or 5 hours total. If you can pass the practice tests in the book, then you should be good. The test was kinda hard, but you only gotta get 70 percent right.
It’s all multiple choice
