Used to use PVC pipe for warmups at this place I worked out at, I think it worked for a better stretch

Ya PVC pipes are famous for that
People even say go to the hardware store and buy a long pvc instead
Hilarious comments aside, your flexibility is your longevity. You can use a broom stick to do the same. You might also want to look into tension bands.
I completely agree flexibility and mobility is both your longevity and dictates your current quality of life.
Funny thing is a fat guy who is flexible is probably happier then a fit guy that is unflexible, rigid and stiff.
It's so easy to get knots too, before doing as much stretching as I now do everytime I went to a masseuse she would tell me I got mad knots in my back. It seems knots are very easy to get.

Tension bands require way too much patience for me, its very hard for me to want to invest the time, i rather life weights.
I do sometimes do tension bands if they already knotted on a vertical pole or a rack and do rotator cuff stuff but thats it

Man tension bands are great for a quick pump of the shoulders and arms. Plus you can do great stretches for your back and shoulders.
