Two part question. Has anyone had any experience with it? And if someone has a Costco membership could you get me the price on a few cars?

I want a low point to start dealer negotiations at and I hear Costco is a great way of doing it. I literally have 4 boys who are all GM's on the East Coast (Lexus, Ford, Toyota, and Ferrari) but I know no one on the West Coast.

I have some references but I need to go in prepared. :feedme:

I am a member of BJ's Warehouse club (no homo) and they also have a car buying program. I got contacted by a Mazda dealer but their price wasn't any better than trying to haggle on a slow sale day. The price was below sticker price but it was ridiculous. I never went into the dealer or talk to a salesman to haggle lower but did get e-mailed often.

Wondering now if the Costco price will be any different then True Car.

I had BJ's Wholesale when I lived back in Boston. Was never a fan of Costco. But now I think I may have to go that route and at least check.

it works..

in so cal .. i go on the website.. they give you a specific dealer that is linked... not all dealers are linked... not all makes either.. like audi is no where to be found....for me..

and its like pretty exclusive.. like its not all dealers.. i had to go to corona toyota.. which was the only costco afflicted toyota dealership in all of so cal.. and so cal is big...

so i show up,,, and mind u I've been to about 5 dealerships... also wen through a couple of dealships through true car .com (which is total bait and switch.. they never have stock or maybe it was cause i wanted a tacoma which toyota don't give incenives and basically new toyotas are cheaper for some reason than used ones.. lol.. great resale value)

so i show up .. literally i tell dude I'm costco'd up... dude pulls a binder from his desk.. says what i want.. i tell em.. he checks his book.. and i get 600 bucks above msrp... literally 1500 to 3000 lower than everybody else..

no negotiation really no hassle.. they go by the book that costco gives them.. and its legit.. 600 bucks above msrp.. best u gonna get for a truck like a tocaoma which they don't give anytype of discounts on.. those trucks never have 0% financing...

so you could imagine if it wouldve been another less demand car like a camry or tundra i could've gotten a better deal

it was quick.. easy and super clean and smooth.. no jerking around no bait and switch... you show that card .. they know they can't fukk with you...

so it depends on where and what kinda car you wanna buy.. cause like i said.. they had none for audis.. and I'm sure other makes too..

its legit though

I'm guessing you mean 600 over Invoice, not MSRP. 600 over MSRP would be a joke and be the equivalent of paying $10 for a Whopper that had one bite taken out of it by a homeless man. But 600 over invoice would be a good deal without having to haggle and sit around for 2 hours while they jerk you off playing the game.
You would have to be a really good haggler to get them to sell it closer to Invoice price (dealer could sell it at invoice price and still get the kickback to make a profit but the salesman wouldn't make as much commission).
