I know my boy had one in Afghanistan. It stopped his a$$ from snoring. And i guess you get better sleep. Use it if you can. And make sure you file a claim for that. Get your money.

That's a automatic 50% disability off top when u get out. :win:

I love my CPAP. I sleep so much better with it. And it's not always weight related. I was 185-190 bodyfat under 16% when I got diagnosed with sleep apnea.

I'm already out so it might be a bit harder for me to get disability for it. I may still file though. I'm only 29 and I can't stand the idea of sleeping with a machine for the rest of my life. I'm not overweight and I only took the test because I was snoring very loud.

Oh damn breh, u never did a sleep study while you were in? Might be kinda hard to get that disability but I'd still say give it a shot. Surgery is also an option. A co-worker had the surgery a couple years ago and he said he hasn't had any problems since. I think it's an outpatient procedure too.

I'm 80% for some other issues and I've been told that some of the medicine I've been prescribed could lead to sleep apnea. I also heard that the surgery doesn't help most people but I have to wait anyway. The VA is backed up as usual and won't even get me my machine until February!

I work in life insurance, if you can learn to do a few things, you may not need a cpap machine.
1) get tonsils and adenoids removed
2) sleep on your side or stomach
3) if you sleep on your back, focus on either closing your mouth or b) attach your tongue to the roof of your palate so you won't snore (alot a people get dental devices to help with this, but you don't necessarily need one)

Thanks, I will try some of that.
