i should have been. id be 8 years from retirement, and 6 months into the job i woulda just went down some stairs and just been chilling this whole time. if i was on patrol id be on some "keep the gun, just give me the bullets" type of shyt too. i could be retired at 40 with pension and benefits 
i grew up with a lot of people who thought city jobs were the end all be all. most who became cops are trying to do as little as possible, collect their pension and thats it. they dont derive any of their personal identity from the job. but i do know one super cop
