I'm not saying Americans are bad, majority of my top 5 are American

But the British take on more difficult roles and put a lot of depth into their characters

I don't even know where I would be able to see their middle-tier

I'm just saying looking at all these main shows and leading actors are British playing Americans - I didn't even know Brody in Homeland was British
all you have to do is a comparison of the shows Americans ripped off from them.
Shameless
Being human
The office

Now while the BBC shows might actually be better in content, the acting of the american shows out class them by far.

When it comes to shows and films I will 100% say that Americans are better, no question

I'm referring to actors themselves

For the past couple decades we've been seeing a trend in the U.S. where producers are more concerned with casting people who look like models rather than people who can actually act.

I've noticed British tv shows and films are more willing to cast folks who look like regular people as long as they've got the acting chops.

I didn't know he had a British accent until I saw Luther and THEN saw him in something else with the accent.

He did such an amazing job as Stringer that even after seeing an episode of Luther, I thought he was doing a British accent for the show.

Nobody on the set of The Wire knew he had a British accent either, until they were filming one day and heard him talk normally.

Yes, overall British/English actors are excellent at their craft. Even tiny budget independent films featuring nobodys usually have top tier acting. The list of great British actors working right now is crazy.
Britians have a rich culture in actin wasnt Shakespear born in Uk?
This. Many in the long list of great British actors have a background in Shakespearen stage/theatre. They work on their craft for years before getting infront of a camera. It is treated like a true craft.
Plus, Daniel Day Lewis > all.
