I was born disabled.

I have asthma & scoliosis. My asthma doesn't bother me very much and when it does it's usually due to when the seasons are transitioning. Scoliosis, is a constant battle though. I exercise 4 days out of the week due to my disability & scoliosis alone. I go to physical therapy the end of every year.

My back pain this past few weeks reminded me of this thread.. its gone from bad to worse. Im intermittently coughing now and my back and side feel like tenderized meat. I cant even sleep, just lying in bed terrified to move.

My hearing is still bad (which is a separate issue), but its gotten worse due to the stress of the pain.

Ill have to go into the doc soon or else I feel like I might die off this shyt

I have asthma...advair is a good preventative that dramatically limits me having to use a rescue inhaler...in college I used a rescue inhaler so much I literally became immune to that specific brand smh...over the years tho diet and exercise also helped me to gain control of it...if you drink a lot...especially beer...that can trigger it too

everybody talking about depression and anxiety is a fakkit plain and simple :francis:

over 40% of people diagnosed with "depression" are not actually depressed just soft.

unless a family member died a tragic death or has fallen gravely ill you should not be getting depressed over daily life.

stop comparing your status in life to others and do what fuccin makes you happy or go find what makes you happy

Life is suffering. Once you understand that concept you can truly start to enjoy the little things in life.

Everybody else :salute: you and your daily battles wish y'all nothing but the best and may God have mercy on ya souls.

Thats my take :yeshrug:

Op, my asthma was really bad and not under control. Now that it is I’d like to share what I’ve learned. You have to stay in the gym. Your lungs are muscles and a great way to work them out and keep them strong is to work out. Do cardio and eventually you will be surprised how much physical activity you can do without needing your rescue inhaler. Also keep weight off. Being overweight will contribute toward breathing problems and put unnecessary pressure on your lungs.

Stay away from milk. It creates mucus that makes it harder to breathe. Also, find out if you’re allergic to dairy and stay say from it. I am and once I drastically reduced my dairy, my symptoms improved a lot.

I take an antihistamine called cetirizine, which is an allergy pill along with the fluticasone nasal spray and that has eliminated most, if not all my irritants and triggers to my asthma. You can get both over the counter or have your doctor prescribe it and it’s pretty cheap with your insurance.

Lastly, make sure you’re prescribed a maintenance inhaler along with your rescue. I used to think maintenance inhalers were pointless but once I committed to the dosage every day, I noticed I could go a day, then multiple days without having to take my rescue inhaler. And for someone who used it multiple times a day, that was incredible to go more than on day without needing it. I got special authorization with my doctor and insurance to take Breo Ellipta and that shyt changed my life. I highly recommend that one if you can get it. Those powder maintenance inhalers are life changing.

Like another poster said, please go see a pulmonologist, they have ways to really help you. You don’t have to live your life waiting for the big one that will take your life. Good luck.

this is so underrated...I used to get seasonal allergies during the spring (pollen)...from april to june like clockwork...I was a mess even w/ allergy pills...but flonase was a game changer...I barely deal w/ allergies now...the crazy shyt is I didn’t like the idea of messing around w/ nose sprays but a student of all ppl suggested I get on it bcuz it helped w/ her allergies...haven’t looked back since

Thats not quite how it works dude.

Its called chemical imbalance. I have minor depression. I have other major issues so I fight through that shyt.

People with major depression dont get enough serotonin in their brain. They arent playing with a full deck

I had really bad asthma when i was a kid. I taught myself from the textbook for most of 5th/6th grade cuz i was never there. Just came in for tests and shyt. I learned how to swim and it slowed down considerably. Just being around somebody with a cat would have me fukked up for a week, nebulizer and all that. :mjcry: We got a dog but i manage with otc allergy meds, benadryl, flonase, etc. I'm now in a house with old carpet so shyt tryna start up again. I've used my rescue inhaler more in the last month than i hve in the last five years. :damn: We ripping it all out, fukk that shyt. :demonic:

Moms got a neighbor who used to be in the hospital several times a year for asthma. Got her some vitamin d and she been good ever since. Get you some.

I now have a different chronic issue. :beli: I manage it myself, these doctors don't know shyt. :aicmon:
