if so, does it trip you out to drive through the real LA and then come home and drive around in the virtual los angeles? does knowing your way around the real city help a bit while navigating los santos?

I went to LA last december and it was cool playing GTA V and being like :ohhh: I remember driving down this street and shyt. It's not 100% accurate but like Mowgli said they did include certain parts.

@RGM
sort of related
But after playing GTA V online for awhile,
whenever I go out into a mall or a shopping center I scope that perfect spot for a survival mission or death match.

I live in NYC and when I played IV it didn't trip me out when I went outside in IRL, my neighborhood wasn't even in the game. Mind you the HS I went to was in Brighton Beach Brooklyn near Coney Island, it still was vastly different between the game and RL.

And its true In those True Crime games if you lived in the city the game took place in you could drive to your house.

True Crime Street in NY is exactly like the real life Mantthan, so if you lived in Mantthan you could drive to the block you lived on in the game, the other four boroughs wasn't in the game though, believe me I tried jumping the walls on the bridges and tunnels hoping the game developers put in at least half of another borough as a Easter egg or something, but no luck :sadbron:

What's funny is that IV version of the Brooklyn and Mantthan Bridges are far more detailed than the ones in TC NYC.

IMO TC NYC had the GOAT map of any open world game I played, driving on the Henry Hudson in that alone took as long as driving around the entire GTA V map :wow:

Not really because its not an actual replica of the city. Just bits and pieces of major areas. You cant just drive to your house like you could in True Crime Streets of L.A

crazy. was it really that accurate?

never played the second game but TC:LA was an underrated game

I keep hearing True Crime NY has all neighborhoods in NY, still leaves me :mindblown:

Harlem and Washington Heights in GTA 4 was bullshyt, they couldnt even include an Apollo theater replica, looked more like East Harlem minus everything that makes up East Harlem if that makes any sense
