Just got into a book called He Who Fights With Monsters and 2/3rds into book 1 it's pretty enjoyable. It's an isekai with a main character who gets an evil powerset called affliction specialist. He's not actually evil though and spends much of his time helping poor and less fortunate people. Seemed like he burned out in his old world and wants to reinvent himself in this new world.

I'm also a fan of The Beginning After The End obviously by the avatar.

Kindle Unlimited is great for these.

Villa Straylight.
Is this like the choose your own adventure books? I used to have one where you got to choose your weapons and magic before you started the adventure.

It's fiction with game type elements for litrpg and for progression fantasy it's a character starting out on the weaker side and having their powers advanced as the story goes on.
