I use to steal those demo disc's at the grocery store out those magazines.

Then one day I played this.. This exact disc, shyt blew me away.. Got that game for Christmas had it beat by the next morning

Official Xbox Magazine also came with a demo disc, I still have a stack of them from when I was a kid, they weren't as crazy as the old PlayStation Underground demo discs though, those came with interviews, trailers, etc. Back when Gerstmann was at Giant Bomb they had a show where they would take a deep dive into this type of promotional material, it's a great series.

Yeah, I had the volume 8 PS1 demo disc.

It had NFL Blitz, a racing game, MedEvil, a ninja game and that creepy Parasite Eve video.
I also had a PS2 demo disc with Dynasty Warriors, a Madden game, an NHL game and a Track and Field game.

They used to come with the PS1 and PS2s too.

These days you have to factor the purchase of a game in when you're buying a console. Everyone is on that 'fukk the poor' wave apparently. I had friends who aint grow up with anything but played the hell out of those demo discs. I was the same with a couple of the games I was able to get.

Also had NFL Blitz, Intelligent Qube, Armored Core...

Steam still does demos, but download only no disc. I have the demo from some random game on my PC. Was the PS2/Xbox era the last era for demos for games on consoles? I can't recall these for PS3/360.

Seeing that 360 in the background annoyed me. I bought one back then and got the damn 'Red rings of death" sent it in to get repaired only to get the damn red rings again like a month later Didn't bother fixing it the second time. Bought an PS3 in 2013 and never gave me no problems I STILL have the PS3.
