You guys should check it out if you haven't.

It's a documentary called "All Hail The King", about Trevor Slattery the actor that played The Mandarin in "Ironman 3". He's in jail, the guy doing the documentary is interviewing him, etc.

At the end of the interview the guy pulls out a gun, kills everyone in the room, then kidnaps the actor....because The Mandarin wants to kill him for pretending to be him.

Heard that was the ending of it a while ago. IDK how I feel about them doing that.

Is it something they had planned or backtracking because a bunch of fans got upset? If its something they've planned since the beginning then cool, by all means but don't buckle on shyt because people get aggy, stand by your shyt

I doubt we'll ever know either way. They have no reason to say "hey, we capitulated to fan outrage".

I'm kind of leaning towards it being planned because Marvel has been pretty thorough about plotting out the future of these movies. Not sure what they're going to do with The Mandarin though, as far as I know there's no more Ironman movies.

Word, I can dig that. Especially since they said that they've been setting the Mandarin up since the first and even this short is connected to it. I think there will be more Iron Man movies eventually just with a different lead which will open up a whole new argument

Another reason I think it was planned is because the Ten Rings terrorist group obviously really exists in the Marvel movies, they kidnapped Tony Stark in the first movie. So it stands to reason The Mandarin really exists.

Nah....

He was saying "I'm The Mandarin" because he was really the puppet master behind Trevor Slattery. In this min-movie The Mandarin wants to meet, and kill, the fake one, so he's obviously a person we haven't seen yet.

I dunno man. Dude is set for life as is. He broke his ankle filming "Ironman 3", the guy is 48 already at a certain point age becomes a factor too.

Fred.
Oh I didn't know he broke it . I wouldn't mind him gettin replaced though to be frank but then again I like his dynamics with Evans and Thor . You can see the comradrie

He's signed on for "The Avengers" sequels he just didn't want to do any more solo movies. So they can't really replace him, unless Don Cheadle goes full time as Warmachine.

I'm not that familiar with Ironman comics though so I don't know who else could wear the suit between Avengers movies.

They will probably replace him after Avengers 3. I'm fine if they do a James Bond thing and dont reboot every time a new actor comes in. Will be tough to fill his shoes, but it has been done with other superheroes successfully just like Connery's Bond also.
