I can understand french I wouldn't say that i'm fluent though. I would love to learn conversational spanish I think it would be helpful.

I hope you do, learning different languages and travelling is one of the most rewarding experiences :wow:

We get so caught up in our small communities and lives sometimes

that we forget that we live on a planet with 8 billion people with different cultures, different ideas and different beliefs.

There's so much to explore :blessed:

I can understand Spanish, I'd be proficient in French if I worked at it but I'm not. My husband is a polyglot so I want to pass that down to my kids.

I think French is one of the most beautiful languages :ohlawd:

Have you ever thought about learning any Ethiopian languages?

It's very difficult honestly I'm trying though since my Aunt is teaching my kids right now. Both Amharic and Tigrinia. I didn't grow up speaking those languages in the home. I didn't even grow up in a bilingual home so I'm a different case. Growing up in NYC, at least in my neighborhood, most of my friends were immigrants who learned English from me. In hindsight I should've learned a language or two from them lol.

I would like to become fluent in 2 languages by the time he is 18.

I used to be wonderful at German. Haven't spoken it in so long though. I can watch tv shows, movies, and read stuff pretty easily though esp if I have the vocab down. Writing is fine as well but conversation? Ugh...idk, not fluent.

I'm thinking of brushing up on it and learning something else. Everyone says I should pick from Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese. Idk yet.
