Trying to get this shyt to run smooth with the atom studio one controller :snoop:
my serato sample doesn't map out properly on my keyboard so i often just chop using the actual computer keyboard.

makes no difference to me coming from using serato as a dj lol.

plus i'm not spending time on it. i rarely do drums on it just quick chops and move on.

why do i use it over ableton samplers? has a better pitch algorithm and gives you key information about samples instead of me having to find the key myself. it also preserves the quality of samples pretty well compared to my stock sampler.

You can just tap in the chops while the sample plays on the keys and fine tune the start markers after with the zoom in and out function. Depending on what DAW you are using find the keyboard layout for studio one and turn keyboard midi on off function. I know the keyboard layout for ableton that matches the pads so for me pad one is the A key W is 2 and S is pad three etc. As the sample play I hit the key and it creates a chop point for each pad. I'm sure you could even click in your chops but that's tedious.

I do use the auto chop tho if it's a percussive sample. But that feature will often skip the quieter parts like the intro of a song or outro.

Also the filter on the software is pretty dope compared to most of the stock filters on software. You can get a really good high pass on a sound and it retain its quality and integrity without loosing too much.

You can copy the sample. Put a Low-Pass Filter on it.
And from there Real-Time Pitch-Shift the sample down an octave. (12 semitones down)
