No but my dad used to beat my Moms ass. My brother witnessed him about to throw her out the window. I don't think he remembers seeing that.

My mother was never abused unless it was by my grandfather or grandmother when she was a kid

Do you (or your bro) have a decent relationship with your dad today? As he apopogized or shown contrition for it?
I know some ppl who've gone through it and a few of them seemingly have a decent relationship but I don't know if its fake and their really not over it

Dad died in 2011 from colon cancer. He apologized on his death bed. He died with a lot of regrets

That's easy to say now. But when your a kid it's different when the dude that's goin in on your mom just so happens to also be the biggest strongest baddest mfer you know. And your scared to death of him

It's crazy how you grow up with a certain perception of family members. Like for example the favorite uncle or aunt or like you say the grandfather. Growing up all you saw was the cheery old man who told stories and everyone laughs having a good time at family gatherings....you didn't see his bad side. The grandpa that beat the shyt outta gramma (and or his kids) on the regular or the uncle who did the same to your cousin.
It's crazy the things we think we know about our family. And what we choose to believe and not believe.
